    The Purpose of Beta Software.

There Seems to be two different interpretations of what Beta test software is and how to run a Beta test.

The common world treats a Beta test as a software application which is close to complete, but still has bugs. The basic fundamentals have been completed and testing has gone about as far as it can in house, and now the developers need real users, ones who were not involved in development and too close to see the errors to give the software a shakedown. The Beta testers know there will be errors, bugs, and that things will need to change. Their job is to expose those bugs and report them. Take the testing out of the theoretical of how the developers expected the application to run, in this case a game to be played, and show how it actually will be used. Uncover the real flaws. Show if the software is even actually viable as the base code was written or is even a workable concept. They give feedback, show were the bugs are. Tell the devs what parts of the logic simply don't work as intended. Find imbalances. The Devs responsibility is then to address those issues. That is, FIX THEM.

The Evony concept of Beta test on the other hand is to present a game that many would consider closer to the alpha phase, with bugs that should have been caught in house. That is an opinion, as we will let that one slide. They follow that though by utterly and completely ignoring most bug feedback. As an example, kingdom orders. These have failed since day 1 of closed Beta. We are now months into open Beta, and there has been ZERO improvement. They still fail, constantly. Users give feedback, in some cases pointing to exactly what is causing at least some of the failures, and no changes are made to fix them. Alternatives are given, and instead of taking those into consideration, Evony/ucool's reps respond with insults to the Beta testers who are attempting to give legitimate feedback, as is their job. The Beta testers give an almost universal feedback that they want no added features to the game until some of the long standing bugs that destroy gameplay are fixed. Instead, the devs constantly make radical changes to the game, changes that seem to have had no testing, introduce massive new bugs, and drastically alter earned game advantages. One of the goals of most changes consistently seems to be efforts to push players to spend more real money to fund the devs, not to improve actual gameplay.

The problem here is fairly clear, this is not a Beta test. This is a game which Evony, ucool, or whatever they choose to call themselves this week has no intention to get right. This is the game, not a test. They will make changes as they see fit, not what users want, only what they think will maximize their short term dollar return. They have no real interest in feedback other than the paypal cash register receipt totals. As long as the register keeps ringing, they simply do not care and will continue to implement what they feel with maximize that, not a thing that will improve the game.

Great Post, you should be given a Supervisory role at Ucool, apparently those their now can't think past the first grade level. It's a sad fact but you nailed it on the head.
Just stop sending in the funds and see how fast it changes, but right now it is perfect for the big coiners.

Most people don't coin on a Beta.

But yes I believe Gooseman has cleared it up.
Think it is time we all stop playing ucool/evony let their pockets work out what they have screwed up

No cash flow will do one of two things. It may cause them to abandon the game or they may actually fix the bugs that we have been complaining about to get the cash flowing again. Having seen the greed of this company, they will probably fix it if the cash stops coming in.

I am looking for a long time good software for future business. So far, I'm not very good at this, maybe someone can give a couple of recommendations about my idea, I will be very grateful!
