Well, I'm lvl102 and I've never used:

Deathgore, Professional Killer, Brute, Sniper, Ferryman, Lightning Master, Forest Guardian, Vanguard Warrior, Drunken Master, Swordmaster, Wind Master, to name most.

There are a few I've used rarely but I kinda like them: Nature Storm, Rifleman, Ancient Protector, to name a few. Others I used a lot in early game, now I hardly use them at all, like Mystic and Shadowleaf.

I think it just depends on how you choose to build your teams. There are so many heroes to combine now, that's part of the fun of this game.

I really had a hard time deciding between Brute and Deathgore but in the end Brute already has his legendary and Deathgore doesn't so he could potentially get something really amazing. While Brute is just going to be god awful for eternity.

OMG ... I just made my Vanguard Warrior R2 and he got soooo good combos ... you should really investigate him more

if you didnt use them doesnt mean they suck. FG, Ferry, VW, Panda are very good, just need to know how to team them. NS, AP are great too. All in current meta except Panda. Ive seen also some teams with Windmaster that works perfect.

Ferryman on the list... he is one of my favorite heroes and I use him soo often. His L Is very strong.

So many useless heroes to pick from: Lightning Master, Mountain, Psychic Sword, Iron Dragon, Stormlord, Dope King, Mountain, Forest Guardian, Unsullied Champion, Wandering Spearman, Professional Killer, Inferno, Shallows Keeper, Pilot, Enchantress, Lunar Guardian and probably a few more I forget (unless, maybe, if you're a bored high VIP who promoted them to Red for fun and did the potential legendary quest, then maybe they turned kinda useful in some funky teams for GT or championship finals)

Like I said, some of those heroes, at RED+1/2 and 5* might be decent, but they're at the bottom of the avergae player priority list, only high VIPs will invest in those heroes, because they're the only ones who already have already all the dozens of more useful heroes at R/R1. So, for common players, yes, these heroes are mostly the runts of the litter that won't ever be useful because not worth investing if it means sacrificing meta heroes.
