    Help with team selection

Hi, I'm looking for help in selecting my arena and crusade teams. I am team level 44. I'm looking for the best team I can build and level now, but with an eye to the future levels.

I was winging it from what I've researched and experienced so far, but I'm having doubts about which way I should go.

    FRONT

    ***Iron Hoof (Blue+2)
    *Shallows Keeper (Blue+1)
    **Mountain (Blue+1)
    **War Chief (Blue)
    *Admiral (Blue)
    *Cleric (Blue)
    ***Lightning Elemental (Blue)
    ***Soulhunter (Grey)
    *Vanguard Warrior (Green)
    **Savage One (Grey)
    *Arcane Sapper (Grey)

    CENTRAL

    ***Succubus (Blue+2)
    **Death Mage (Blue+2)
    **Phoenix (Blue+2)
    **Old Curse (Blue+1)
    **Ice Mage (Blue+1)
    **Silencer (Blue+1)
    **Emberstar (Blue)
    **Imperial Executioner (Green)
    *Lightning Master (Green+1)
    **Frost Mage (Green)
    *Machinist (Grey)

    BACK

    **Shadowleaf (Blue+2)
    *Chaplin (Blue+2)
    **Commander (Blue+1)
    **Mystic (Blue)
    ***Poisoned One (Blue)
    ***Professional Killer (Green+1)
    **Psychic Sword (Grey)
    *Rifleman (Grey)

Which 10-15 do you think I should actually max skills and levels for purple and beyond?

    Thanks in advance!

Your priorities will shift over time so it's not that easy to summarize everything in one single list but I'll try a rough approach:

    Arena

    - Iron Hoof / War Chief after he's purple
    - Old Curse
    - Commando
    - Shadowleaf
    - Succubus / Mystic after he's purple and level ~70 or higher

All you'll ever need for Crusade, same as everyone else:

    - Death Mage
    - Old Curse
    - Frost Mage
    - Mystic
    - Chaplain

Priority A (gets skillpoints and equipment first)

    - War Chief
    - Iron Hoof
    - Old Curse
    - Shadowleaf
    - Commando

Priority B (gets served after A)

    - Death Mage
    - Mystic
    - Frost Mage
    - Succubus (slowly move to Priority C after purple)
    - Chaplain (just level her heal skill for crusade)
    - Shallows Keeper (third tank if you intend to participate in grand arena)

Priority C (lowest priority but one late day you may be happy to have them ready)

    - Arcane Sapper
    - Silencer
    - Machinist
    - Imperial Executioner
    - Poisoned One

Forget they exist (for a VERY long while or forever):

    - Mountain
    - Admiral
    - Cleric
    - Lightning Elemental
    - Soulhunter
    - Emberstar
    - Lightning Master
    - Psychic Sword
    - Professional Killer
    - Ice Mage
    - Rifleman
    - Savage One
    - Vanguard Warrior
    - Necromancer

    No clue

    - Phoenix (too new, everyone has mixed opinions about him)

Thank you so very much for taking the time to make a detailed response!

Everything you said makes perfect sense.

Are there any other heroes I should pursue?

And again thank you for responding - I certainly appreciate it very much.

Well, if you can spare more resources to obtain and train new heroes, then:

    - Drunken Master (forget about Shallows Keeper then as you don't need more than 3 tanks)
    - Vengeance Spirit (a good lategame replacement for old curse in pure physical teams)
    - Cloud Walker (as soon as non-vips can get him in any way)

You should be all set with those then.

So far you only have one problem remaining then: raiding.
If you can't afford too many heroes you should generally prioritize finishing crusades, having a decent arena rank and contributing in raids - in that order.
The latter is not that easy in my opinion because a lot of the raid-heroes are not particularly good in arena or crusade but if you want to go that route, consider:

    - Tusked Storm
    - Rifleman

These two will at least have a fair spot in your grand arena teams, too.
