When to open chests and when to do the crusade?

Just hit the chest. Finish crusade everyday, sooner or later you will find it.

Sometimes there are promotions that make it ''more likely'' to get heroes in gold chests and other varying promotions.

Crusade - doesn't matter what time you do it, the outcome will be the same or not - as it is RNG based.
