Depends on many factors like ur lvl, heroes u have etc
worth a try if you dont have good heroes.

Im lvl 50 atm..i have 19 heroes such as lightning elemental, wind master, war chief, shallow, commando, death knight, cleric, warrior monk, psychopath,machinist and basic heroes of course
So, what hero(s) do you want to get? I mean if you looking for specific 1-2 heroes, 2500 cry would be a waste. Just save them for stamina.
You already have lots of decent hero. Just focus on strengthening them up specially for you crusades instead of buying gold box and get crappy or things you don't really need. The other guy is right you can spend it on stamina so you'll get more exp, money and items too
the chance you got same heroes cards are pretty high, all turn to stones. If you got all basic heroes, I don't think you could draw other heroes from gold chest anymore. Try to invest on different features.
Same question as OP: I saved up and bought gold chest once. So I am level 36 with Succubus, Brute, Pilot, Depths, Machinist, Mystic (and starter 5).
Feels like I am missing a ton of heroes, so should save up for one more chest. But I also REALLY want to raise my power so I can complete Crusades, and get to map 7 for guild raiding.
I would support, in this promotion i got savage one, wind master, brute, worrior monk, death knight, war chief, old curse, ice mage, necro, bear warrior, master mage, shadow sharman with 5 or 6 round of gold chests. Very happy
from what i see u already have many good heroes.
Try investing ur gem for staminas,midas...
and gold chest once at a time...
U only need good mid like old curse and u will be good
