Merging Your Alliance - The Simple Truth

Merging a small alliance may be the best possible move for some small lower leveled alliances. Why? Because merging with a larger alliance would mean that all the hard work you have put into your game and your alliance is not wasted. A larger alliance provides your players with better game play and all the donations made are not lost and thrown away.

Here is also a simple truth: yes, it would mean that you most likely would not be a host or even a vice host of the new alliance. But think of this: you would be doing something good for the players that you have tried to look out for since the beginning of the game. If you have a lower TH then the VH or Host of the new alliance and you have not been able to grow, then the other host probably has better experience at the game. You can work with that. Most likely the host will happily let you be an officer in the alliance providing that there is ample space or room for growth in the position. Being a host of an alliance does not give you any special powers in the game. It does not mean that you are a super hero or that your social status in life has raised you to a higher level. Being host means that you are responsible for leading other players in the game.

In our alliance we go by the idea that the game we play belongs to all of our players. Thus we do not keep secrets and we all work in tandem to make certain everyone has the best possible game experience. Not all alliances work that way. Some have officers that make the decisions and hope that everyone else will follow along.

So, when choosing to merge try and pick an alliance that most correlates with the principles and guidelines that your alliance follows and you will be the most happy with your decision. Remember that if you continue to dwaddle through the game as a lower level alliance you most likely will be used as farms or targets for larger players looking for food, gold, and hero experience. It's not being cruel it's just part of the game. Being part of a larger alliance helps keep you from being targets or food source and allows you to have a better game experience.

so what that boils down to is: no one will ever get up to higher levels unless they join an already large
Alliance. so why bother even having a "start Alliance" option, all new players are all "food for thought"
for major Alliances. Actually it kind of reads like a threat.

No, Dragons, I didn't mean it as a threat at all. There is the option because there will always be people that feel the need to have their own space or that do not play the game on a regular enough basis to stay in a larger and more active alliance. This was placed for regular players that want to play the game every day and build their cities. Being in a smaller alliance and not merging with a larger one inhibits their game play.

Thank you, Phooka, that is exactly what I was trying to say. Explaining a benefit to game play is not the same thing as a threat. It's just trying to help others make the best of their game and hopefully make some of the smaller players that are leading alliances understand that they are not helping players but could be hurting their game in the long run. For instance, a host with a level 5 or 6 Town Hall is not going to be able to help another player build his city to level 8 or 9 nor give him reinforcements of 4 or 5 star wizards. Nor can that host revenge on players hit by other players who are being hit by larger players. It would be more beneficial to their game to move to an alliance that is able to help them grow and give them that edge.
