Is there any difference in promoting a hero wit fully enchanted gear n unenchanted gear?

When you use promote a hero with enchanted gear they keep the boost from the enchantment and you get back some of the void dust you use

As i have read it you should only enchante gear when you are purble+ because the hero will not recieve the addes stats on the item.
