Another counter to EB is to have a charged Phoenix ready to stun-lock EB and take him out since he can't get his shield up. I usually pair this with DM ulti to mow the entire team down.

Are you using all 3 (DM, DK and WC) tanks for Hard Crusade? Or are you able to complete it with 2 of those 3?
